Competition time!

20140128-155231.jpg

I’ve decided to hold a competition. It’s been a long while. An aMala to be won!

You can enter in a few ways –
1) By commenting here under this blog post.
2) On Instagram by reposting the competition pic & tagging Lunaress. #lunaress
3) On my Facebook page by sharing the competition pic.

I will draw the winner by adding all names into a Random Name Generator. Or if I get more entries than that, I’ll give every name a number & then put it into a random number generator. Easy peasy.

Winner will be drawn next Friday 7th Feb.

Good luck Lunar’s!

Experimenting with dreams

20140109-120103.jpg

Once I saw this dream in my head, I could not stop until I had finished it. Lots of unraveling & trying it on my little Amala, & here is the finished product. I love them.
I’ve got this beautiful cotton spring yarn from Bendigo Woollen Mills, a yarn store I love, & it fits this harem pant style perfectly. Light, springy, stretchy. Colours are divine.
I have a lot of trouble getting my head around sizes. It’s so easy when you have a model to work the pattern around, but bubs are soooo different. So many varieties of yummy bubby & children’s sizes, my head spins. So I’m yet to decide if I will make these a Lunaress line. If I do, I may just keep it to baby sizes. Time will tell.
Until next time!

Merry Xmas

20131223-151333.jpg

Now this is what I call a perfect Xmas delivery! Beautiful stones in colours that resonate with me. I love stone shopping & seeing the amazing colours & patterns. Then crocheting them, & adding them to the perfect aMala. I think I’ve found my calling…..;)

Colour my mind

20131222-134022.jpg

I find crocheting such a beautiful focus for my mind. I love creating with it, I love thinking of new possibilities, I love seeing my hands bring these patterns or thoughts to life. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. I have a lot of unfinished projects laying around. One day.
But today I’m sharing with you my love of crocheting with yarn that changes colour. I love watching the stitches slowly morph into new colours without changing yarns. This colour combo is a favourite of mine. So calming in purples, blues, brights & darks. I’d like to make a skirt out of this yarn. Layers of colours. I love it.

A rainy day

20131214-165422.jpg

Today is a beautiful rainy day, so I’ve begun this Eli Zig Zag Throw.

If you follow my Lunaress Facebook page, you’ll know my last post was asking my gorgeous Lunar’s which was to go for the new style throw. I had these colours for a Misty Mandala Throw, but you know me, & I like to change it up every new project. So it was between the Granny squares ( which I will do at some stage ) & the zig zag pattern. Of course, you know which one got the most votes.

And so the Eli Zig Zag Throw is born….

My daily work

20131209-184503.jpg

Ah, hands are constantly working. I can’t keep still. This is my daily mediation. And I call it that because I love to crochet. I love what I create. I love to keep busy as my mind has more energy than my body. This photo was taken by my 4 yr old Lavali girl. She loves taking pics & this is so perfect of what she sees of me.
I’ve found that ever since I gave up smoking when I found out I was pregnant with my first born Tao, whose now 6, I’ve needed to keenly hands busy. Before I started crocheting, I cooked. I loved to cook. I still love to cook. Although it’s harder to do now with a baby who likes to cling to my leg or go to sleep or breastfeed while I’m cooking. So I don’t do it as often now, until my youngest (8 months) gets a little older. So I happily crochet my creations, baby at breast, sitting on the couch while she drifts into boobie slumber. Best thing ever. Relaxing for us both. Love.

Waves of Thought

20131206-161800.jpg

My creation comes in waves. Sometimes that’s so hard, because I want to make something I dream of, but it may take too long, or my brain is already onto the next creation wave.
At the moment, it’s the Misty Mandala Throws. I haven’t done one in many many months. Now I’m onto my second one. I’m finding it such a meditation. And I’m enjoying it so so much.
I’ve stopped doing customs also, as I find it really hard to focus on things that my brain is not on the wave of. I’m learning that now. Plus, being sleep deprived, I’m forgetting lots of things. My baby brain is continuing from giving birth the first time 6 yrs ago. Now onto my third birth, & I’ve breastfed constantly for those 6 years! My brain is mushy.

Blessings & love,
